Goldeen is in Super Smash Bros for the comic relief, like the game's version of a practical joke. Instead of a powerful Pokémon, you get... a flopping fish!

Goldeen is in there to keep you humble. Every time you throw a Poké Ball in hope of getting an epic character and you get a Goldeen instead, it's a reminder: Expect the unexpected!

Goldeen is there because not every Poké Ball can be Mewtwo! Sometimes you get the dud fish and it's hilarious.

Goldeen is in the game to balance things out. Not every Pokémon can be a game-changer, sometimes you just need a flopping fish.

Think of Goldeen as a troll item. You expect something awesome, but nope—just a Goldeen flopping around. Adds to the randomness!
