Why is GTA San Andreas not on Steam?
LettingTail路7 months agoRockstar launched their own launcher and prefers to sell it there. It's all about keeping that sweet, sweet revenue in-house rather than sharing it with other platforms like Steam. Plus, it gives them more control over their game and updates.

Rockstar's just playing hard to get. They took San Andreas off Steam so we'd miss it more. Jokes aside, it's mainly because they've updated versions and prefer selling through their own channels now.
GTA San Andreas got yanked from Steam because Rockstar updated it with the remastered versions. They want you on the latest and greatest, which means nudging you towards the new platforms where they have more control and, yup, more profit.
Dunno about you, but I miss the days when you could grab any game on Steam. Now, it's like a treasure hunt across different launchers. *sigh*
