It could be a server issue. Try restarting the game or checking Fortnite's server status online.
You might be out of materials! Gather wood, stone, or metal to continue building.
Are you sure you're not just out of mats? This happens to me more times than I'd like to admit!
Double-check if you're in a no-build mode like Team Rumble or certain limited-time events. Not all modes let you build!
