Why is my disk usage so low on Steam?

One reason your disk usage might be low on Steam is because Steam dynamically manages game data and only downloads what you need, when you need it. So, if you're not downloading a new game or an update for a game, your disk usage will naturally be lower. Plus, Steam compresses game files, which means they take up less space on your disk until they're unpacked and installed. Lastly, check your Steam settings to make sure you don't have a bandwidth limit set that's causing slower downloads and thus lower disk usage.

Disk usage low? It's probably because you're not downloading anything big at the moment. Steam is efficient like that. Wait till you grab a new triple-A game – watch those numbers climb!

Check your settings, pal. You might've capped your download speed without realizing it. Happened to me once, and I spent a week wondering why my games took ages to download.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
