Check if Instagram isn't having a global outage. Those happen occasionally, and it's not your fault!
I had this happen last week! Clearing the app cache fixed it for me. Go to Settings > Apps > Instagram > Clear Cache.
Maybe your internet connection is being flaky? Try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data or vice versa.
Make sure your app is up-to-date. Outdated versions can cause all sorts of weird issues.
