Why is my Instant Pot leaking steam?
ManningAndy路7 months agoIf your Instant Pot's venting knob is set to 'venting' instead of 'sealing', it'll definitely leak steam. It's an easy miss but an easier fix. Just twist that knob to 'sealing' and start again!

Most likely, your Instant Pot is leaking steam because the sealing ring isn't properly installed or it's worn out. These rings can get stretched or damaged over time, affecting their ability to seal. Make sure it's properly seated in the lid. If it looks warped, cracked, or overly stretched, it's time for a replacement!
It could just be overfilled. The Instant Pot needs space to build pressure correctly. If it's too full, it'll find a way to release that extra steam, and sometimes that means around the lid.
Check the lid! If it's not all the way closed, steam's gonna make a break for it. A quick, firm twist should make sure it's locked up tight.
Your sealing ring's had its day. After a lot of use, they just don't work as well. Grab a new one online; they're not expensive.
