First, make sure the mic isn't muted. There's a tiny button below the PS button on the controller – press it and see if the orange light turns off. If that doesn't fix it, you might need to check the mic settings in the PS5 menu.

Your mic might be picking up too much background noise, causing it to not work properly. Try lowering the ambient noise or adjusting the mic sensitivity in the settings.

Check if the controller needs an update. Go to the settings and look for any available updates for your DualSense controller.

Honestly, it could just be a hardware issue. If nothing else works, you might need to contact Sony for a replacement or repair.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
