Why is my Steam download so choppy?
ReroutingTopaz路7 months agoIt could be a few things causing those choppy downloads on Steam. First, check your internet connection. A weak or unstable connection is often the culprit. If you're on Wi-Fi, try switching to a wired connection to see if that stabilizes your download speeds. Also, peak hours can clog up bandwidth, so try downloading during off-peak times. Don't forget to clear your Steam download cache and check if other downloads or streaming services are running in the background, hogging all the bandwidth!

ISP throttling could be messing with your Steam downloads. Some internet service providers throttle bandwidth for heavy data activities like downloading games. A VPN might help, but check your ISP's policy first to avoid any unintended consequences.
Might be Steam's servers getting slammed. Happens a lot during big sales or game launches. Try changing your download region in the settings to somewhere less busy.
Your hard drive could be the issue. If it's almost full or fragmented, it can slow down download speeds. Try freeing up space or defragging it (if it's an HDD). SSDs don't need defragging.
