Don't forget to check if there's an update for Steam or your operating system. Sometimes, being out-of-date can cause launch failures.

Steam not opening can be a real game-ender, but fear not! The first move is to check if Steam's servers are down (rare, but it happens). If the servers are all good, try restarting your computer — the classic turn-it-off-and-on-again trick works more often than you'd think. Sometimes, Steam might be running in the background, so use Task Manager to close it completely and then relaunch. If none of these maneuvers work, you might need to reinstall Steam, but remember to backup your games first!

Just reinstall. It's the fastest fix.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
