It might be a Wi-Fi issue! Check your connection and maybe try switching to data or another network.
Once had a similar problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixed it for me. Give it a shot!
Update the app! Outdated versions can be buggy. Head to the App Store or Google Play Store and make sure you're using the latest version.
It鈥檚 probably just Zynga doing maintenance. Give it a bit, grab a coffee, and try again later.
