It mostly comes down to the change in animation studio. Season 1 was handled by Madhouse, while Season 2 went to J.C. Staff. The difference in animation quality was noticeable for many fans.

Hot take: Season 2 isn't bad, it's just not as mind-blowing as Season 1. It's still worth watching for the story and characters.

A big reason people didn't like it is the pacing. Season 2 felt slower and less epic than the first season, which was a bummer.

As someone who watched both seasons, I felt like the second one focused too much on setting up future plotlines instead of delivering the same action-packed fun. Still good, but a different vibe.
