Server issues, bugs, or maintenance. It's a big platform, so stuff happens.
Sometimes it's just general maintenance. They've got to keep the gears greased, you know?
It's probably because there are millions of players logging on at any given time, which puts a lot of strain on their servers.
From my experience, these issues usually happen when they're rolling out a big update or event. Patience, young padawan!
