The Mugen Train movie was so well-received and financially successful that they decided to make it part of the anime series' second season to keep the narrative flowing smoothly.

They did the movie first because it was an epic arc that deserved the big screen treatment! Then they made it part of Season 2 so even non-moviegoers could enjoy.

The movie's huge success made them adapt the same story for TV to include everyone who might've missed the film.

Season 2 of Demon Slayer kicks off with the Mugen Train arc, which was so popular it got turned into a movie first. The arc was later adapted into episodes for the TV series to keep the continuity. Double the fun!
