It's in the oven baking longer because the developers probably want to avoid a buggy release. Patience, fellow survivalist!
Development takes time, especially for a sequel to such an awesome game like The Forest. The devs want to ensure it's perfectly terrifying for us!
Release schedules can be unpredictable, but good things come to those who wait, and I'd rather wait for a polished game.
