Steam validates your game files to make sure all the necessary parts of the game are intact and haven't been corrupted or tampered with. It's like a wellness check for your games, ensuring everything is in tip-top shape for a smooth gaming experience.

It's basically Steam's way of saying, 'Let me double-check everything's in order before you dive in.' This happens sometimes when an update goes through, or if it detects something's off. It's a good thing, means Steam's looking out for ya!

Steam's just being overprotective. It does this to everyone.

Had this happen to me last week! Steam started validating my game files out of nowhere. Turns out, it was just after a patch update. The game ran even smoother afterward, so no complaints here!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
