It’s mostly due to people's nostalgia for Naruto. They expected Boruto to be the same but got something different, which disappointed some fans.

I think Boruto's score is low because it started off slow, and many fans dropped it before getting to the better arcs.

Honestly, people are just too harsh. It's a great series with its own merits, but some fans can't let go of the past.

Boruto has a tough act to follow with Naruto being such a beloved series, so comparisons are inevitable. Some fans feel it doesn't measure up in terms of storytelling and character development.

The score is low because people expected more of the original's epic battles and less of the new characters' personal growth journeys.
