It's called Dr. Stone because the petrification event turned all of humanity into stone statues, and the story revolves around reversing that process and the scientific advancements that Senku makes along the way. Basically, it's about going from stone back to our modern world!

The series is called Dr. Stone because the main character, Senku, is often referred to as 'Senku-chan' or 'Dr. Stone' due to his immense scientific knowledge and his goal to rebuild civilization from a stone-age state.

The title Dr. Stone hints at both the petrification theme and Senku鈥檚 role as a 'doctor' of science who revives and cures humanity from its stone state. Plus, it sounds pretty cool, doesn't it?

Senku's journey to de-petrify humanity and his scientific prowess earn him the nickname Dr. Stone. It鈥檚 all about science and stone-age technology!
