Honestly, there's definitely blood in the series. It's just less frequent compared to some other anime. The show's more about the story and characters.
The Hunter x Hunter reboot softened the bloodier scenes to fit TV broadcast standards. Don't worry, it's still awesome!
Actually, there is blood in Hunter x Hunter, but the 2011 reboot toned it down a bit to match a broader audience. Check out the 1999 version for a bit more gore!
