Maybe Jeter's too busy being a Hall of Fame legend to be in every game! Licensing issues can sometimes keep players out.

Derek Jeter probably didn't sign a licensing agreement, so he's not in the game.

Jeter not in this year? I'd bet it's a licensing thing. Sometimes getting rights to a player's likeness can be tricky business.
