First off, make sure the person’s phone has location services turned on. No GPS, no update!
Just my two cents, but it might be worth checking for any pending app updates. New updates often fix bugs.
Sometimes, a slow internet connection can mess things up. Make sure the device is connected to Wi-Fi or has a strong mobile signal.
The app might need a good ol' reboot. Try restarting Life360 or even the whole phone.
