Why isn't Marvel vs Capcom as popular as Street Fighter?
DroppingSway路3 months agoMarvel vs Capcom (MvC) just doesn't have the same history or competitive scene as Street Fighter. Street Fighter has been around since '87 and has built a massive community over the years.

In my experience, MvC can be overwhelming with its tag-team mechanics and huge roster. Street Fighter sticks to one-on-one combat which is simpler for casual players.
Hot take: MvC tried too hard to mash up universes and lost some of the depth that makes Street Fighter so engaging.
Street Fighter was a pioneer in the fighting game genre and has a more consistent gameplay style compared to the sometimes chaotic nature of MvC. Some players just prefer the more straightforward mechanics of Street Fighter.
