Marvel vs Capcom (MvC) just doesn't have the same history or competitive scene as Street Fighter. Street Fighter has been around since '87 and has built a massive community over the years.

In my experience, MvC can be overwhelming with its tag-team mechanics and huge roster. Street Fighter sticks to one-on-one combat which is simpler for casual players.

Hot take: MvC tried too hard to mash up universes and lost some of the depth that makes Street Fighter so engaging.

Street Fighter was a pioneer in the fighting game genre and has a more consistent gameplay style compared to the sometimes chaotic nature of MvC. Some players just prefer the more straightforward mechanics of Street Fighter.
