Minecraft isn't on Steam because it's owned by Microsoft, who prefers to distribute it through their own channels like the Microsoft Store. Also, integrating Minecraft's existing user system with Steam's could be complex and not worth the hassle for Microsoft.

It's all about control and profits. Microsoft has more control over Minecraft and makes more money by selling it directly, rather than going through Steam.

Simply put, Microsoft wants to keep that sweet, sweet Minecraft cash flow within its own garden and not share it with Valve. Why share when you don't have to?

Minecraft isn't on Steam mainly because it's owned by Microsoft, which prefers to distribute it through its own platforms like the Microsoft Store. Microsoft wants to keep the control over how it's distributed and updated, rather than sharing a cut with Valve, the company behind Steam. Plus, Minecraft has its own launcher, which allows for direct game updates and account management.

Honestly, Minecraft doesn鈥檛 need Steam. It鈥檚 already too popular and has its own ecosystem. Steam would just be a middleman.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
