Why isn't Pokemon TCG compatible?

Compatibility in Pokemon TCG mainly refers to being able to play across different versions or platforms. Since Pokemon TCG has both a physical card game and an online version (Pokemon TCG Live), these two can't directly interact with each other (i.e., you can't scan your physical cards to play online). Also, the formats within the game (like Standard or Expanded) dictate which cards are 'compatible' for competitive play at any given time. Hope this clears it up!

It's all about the game formats and versions. Some cards are too old for the current competitive scene. Gotta keep up with the new sets!

Honestly, I think the real question is why we can't just scan our physical cards into the online game. I've got a mountain of cards that are just sitting there. Missed opportunity if you ask me.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
