Why isn't Steam opening?
Ah, the classic Steam-won't-open struggle. Here's a couple things to try: First, give your computer a good ol' reboot. It's the IT crowd's favorite for a reason. If that doesn't do the trick, make sure Steam isn't already running in the background. Check your task manager and end any Steam processes you find. Last resort, reinstall Steam but don't worry, your games will be safe.

It could be your antivirus blocking Steam without you realizing it. Some security programs see it as a threat. Try temporarily disabling your antivirus and see if Steam launches. If it does, you'll need to add Steam as an exception in your antivirus settings.
Just uninstall and reinstall, works like a charm every time. Your games won't vanish into the ether, I promise.
Sometimes it's just your antivirus getting too jumpy and blocking Steam. Check those settings!
Reinstall? No way. Just delete everything in your Steam folder except for SteamApps and Steam.exe, then run Steam. It'll download everything fresh but keep your games. Worked for me!
