Simple answer? Quidditch was too big of a side quest to fit into Hogwarts Legacy's already massive world. They went all-in on the open-world experience, leaving less room for sports.

Honestly, as much as I adore Quidditch, I didn't even miss it. The game's got so much to explore and do, I was too busy being a wizard, mastering spells, and uncovering secrets. Who's got time for Quidditch when there's a whole magical world out there?

So, Hogwarts Legacy doesn't have Quidditch 'cause the devs wanted to focus on delivering a rich story and exploration experience. Crafting a magical world with in-depth character interactions, spell-casting, potion brewing, and those incredible duels took priority. Quidditch, as awesome as it is, would've required a ton of resources to get right, from mechanics to animations. Imagine the work needed to make flying on a broom feel just as magical as in the movies, while keeping the game balanced. They've packed the game with tons of other content though, so there's still heaps to do!
