Honestly, MacBooks aren’t designed for heavy gaming. Subnautica runs better on a dedicated gaming PC or console.
I had the same problem! Lowering the resolution and setting the graphics to medium worked wonders for me. Also, make sure your MacBook isn’t overheating by using a cooling pad.
