Why Was Spider-Man 4 Canceled?
Spider-Man 4 got the axe mainly because of creative differences between director Sam Raimi and the studio. Raimi wanted more time to polish the script, but Sony wanted to push ahead quickly.

Sony and Sam Raimi couldn't agree on a story and timing, so they decided to reboot the series instead.
Same ol' story鈥攃reative disagreements and tight deadlines. Easier to reboot than fight it out!
Rumor has it, they canceled Spider-Man 4 because Raimi couldn't make the movie he wanted in the time allowed. Too bad, would have loved to see it!
