The original Mortal Kombat movie was PG-13 to appeal to a broader audience, especially teenagers who might not have been able to see it otherwise!

Honestly, it wasn't necessary for the story they were trying to tell. That's it.

They probably thought parents wouldn't be too happy if little Timmy saw Scorpion ripping someone's spine out. Just a guess.

Gore would have pushed the movie to an R rating, which would limit its audience and potentially reduce ticket sales鈥攎oney talks, folks!

As someone who watched it at the time, they wanted it to be more about martial arts and the adventure rather than a gore fest. It worked for me!

If you're a Mortal Kombat player looking for extra coins or other power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Mortal Kombat essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
