Sometimes, it鈥檚 just server issues on Epic Games' side. Give it some time and then try again later.
Check if your device's software needs an update. Outdated systems sometimes refuse to play nice with new updates.
First-hand experience here: I had to uninstall and reinstall the game once. Fixed everything, but make sure to back up your data just in case.
Make sure you're not out of storage space on your device. Fortnite updates can be chunky, like your grandma's soup!
