Try verifying the integrity of the game files if you're on PC. Corrupted files can be a real buzzkill!
I had the same problem once. Turned out my antivirus was blocking the game. Try adding an exception for SFV.
Sometimes, it's just a problem with the servers. Try waiting a bit and give it another go.
Check if you've got the latest version of the game installed. Sometimes an old version can cause startup issues.
