Disable unnecessary background programs. They can sometimes interfere with the game’s launch.
Maybe your PC just hates hats? Try running it in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows.
Have you tried the ol' classic ‘turn it off and on again’? Restart Steam, or better yet, your whole computer.
Check your drivers! Sometimes just updating your graphics card driver can do the trick. No drivers, no game!
