First things first, are the batteries in your Roku remote fresh and properly installed? Fresh batteries often solve the problem. If that's not the issue, try resetting the remote by pressing and holding the pairing button (usually found in the battery compartment) for about 3 to 5 seconds until the pairing light starts flashing. This should get it talking to your Roku device.

Try restarting both your Roku device and remote. That worked for me when I was losing my mind over it!

Wi-Fi interference, that's your culprit. Check for any interference and try again.

Make sure your Roku device and remote are on the same network and that there are no obstacles blocking the path between them. Sometimes, they're just being a little shy.
