Hot take: Sometimes Twitch just has a hiccup. Wait it out or try a different browser.
Maybe you're watching on an older browser version. Update your browser, and it should work fine.
I had the same issue, and clearing my browser cache fixed it. Give it a try!
Make sure you have BetterTTV (BTTV) or FrankerFaceZ (FFZ) installed. Those emotes won't display without these browser extensions!
