As someone who uses Roku Ultra daily: nope, it doesn't upconvert. But it plays HDR beautifully if the video is in HDR!

Nope, the Roku Ultra won't magically turn regular content into HDR. Your TV and the content must support HDR.
Roku Ultra can't upconvert non-HDR content to HDR. It plays HDR content if it's available and your TV supports it.
