Yes, but only some PS3 models have backward compatibility with PS2 games. The original 60GB and 20GB PS3 models can play most PS2 games, while later PS3 models don't have this feature. Check your model before you try!

Honestly, just get a PS2 if you want to play PS2 games. It's hassle-free.

Nope, newer PS3 models can't play PS2 games directly. Your best bet might be finding a remastered version or re-release on the PlayStation Store.
