Sonic Mania was initially released as a digital-only title in August 2017, but fans can rejoice because a physical version called Sonic Mania Plus was released later in 2018!

Digital only at first, but they did a physical version later. So, there's both!

Yep, Sonic Mania was download-only at first but don't worry, a physical edition came out too.

I grabbed a copy of Sonic Mania Plus at a local store, so it's definitely not download only anymore!
