From personal experience, it's just you and that massive ocean on your console. Multiplayer isn't happening, but don't let that stop the adventure!
I wish it were multiplayer but alas, it's not. Solo survival is where it's at!
Subnautica on console will remain a single-player experience. The developers haven't announced plans for any official multiplayer update, but hey, who needs buddies when you have peepers to keep you company?
