The Void Century is that 100-year gap in the world's history that everyone in One Piece seems super eager to NOT talk about. It's like the biggest mystery box ever. Basically, it happened 800-900 years before the current events of the story, and whatever went down then, the World Government is super keen on keeping it a hush-hush. It's got something to do with the ancient weapons and the lost civilization of the Ancient Kingdom that supposedly posed a huge threat to the world as it is known today.
