In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, all the starter Pokemon (Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly) are shiny locked, meaning you can't find them in their shiny forms in the wild or hatch them from eggs. The same goes for the box legendaries, Koraidon in Scarlet and Miraidon in Violet, and a few special event Pokemon like the Paradox Pokemon. Basically, if it's a Pokemon given to you through a special event or story, chances are it's shiny locked.

Actually, shiny hunting for starters or box legendaries in Scarlet and Violet is a no-go. They're shiny locked, so save your time and focus on other 'mons!

I managed to catch a shiny Lechonk after hours of searching, but couldn't get any luck with the starters or Koraidon. It's because they're shiny locked. Learned that the hard way!
