CS:GO isn't going anywhere! With its transition to free-to-play and the introduction of Prime Status, Valve's already shown they're invested in keeping the game fresh and engaging. CS 2 might bring some changes to the table, but CS:GO will remain a staple for both casual and competitive players. Expect simultaneous support and updates for both games, as Valve wouldn't want to alienate the massive player base of CS:GO.

I think CS:GO will slowly fade out, making room for CS 2. New tech, graphics, and possibly smoother gameplay will shift the community's focus. It's the natural evolution of games, but CS:GO will always be remembered fondly.

Honestly, CS:GO will lose players to CS 2, that's just how game cycles work. But! It'll still be the go-to for many because of nostalgia and its established esports ecosystem. It might see fewer updates but it won't just disappear.
