Honestly, One Piece starts to look a lot smoother and the quality really picks up around the Enies Lobby arc (episodes 264–312). Before then, the animation does its job but it's from Enies Lobby onwards you'll notice significant improvements. Not just the animation gets better, but the storytelling and character development hit a new level too!

Animation? It's all about the story, folks. But yeah, the Water 7 arc (episodes 229–263) does have some nice visuals. Don't sweat the animation too much, One Piece is a journey worth taking for the story alone.

If you ask me, the animation in One Piece has its ups and downs due to its long run. However, I'd say things really start to kick up a notch when you hit the Whole Cake Island arc (episodes 783 onwards). The art style gets more detailed and the animation more fluid, making those intense battles and emotional moments hit even harder.

One word: Wano. The Wano Country arc (starting from episode 892) is where the animation really becomes movie-quality. The colors, the fight scenes, everything! It's a visual feast.
