I ran into Numel near the East Province (Area Three) borders close to Asado Desert. Not sure if it was just luck, but it's worth checking out if you're having no luck in the desert.

Numel can be found roaming around the Asado Desert in Pokemon Scarlet. It's pretty easy to spot with its camel-like appearance. Just wander around the sandy areas, and you're likely to bump into one. Remember, patience is key; keep searching, and you'll find your Numel!

Got mine by accident while looking for something else in the Asado Desert. They're around, just gotta keep an eye out.
