Why does CS:GO crash when loading a map?

Map loading crashes in CS:GO can often trace back to not having enough system resources, like RAM or CPU power, especially if you're running other heavy programs in the background. Make sure to close unnecessary applications before launching CS:GO. Also, outdated graphics drivers are common culprits - updating them can sometimes fix the issue right away. If that doesn't work, try verifying the integrity of game files through Steam. Sometimes files get corrupted and a quick verify+fix does the trick!

In my experience, a full reinstall fixed it. Had the same issue, tried everything from updating drivers to sacrificing my firstborn to the gods of gaming. Nothing worked until I just uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Pain, but it worked.

Just set everything to low settings. Seriously, CS:GO can be a bit picky with hardware, so if your PC is on the older side, lowering graphic settings might stop the crashes when loading maps.

It's probably a mod or custom content causing the issue. If you've downloaded any custom maps or skins, remove them and see if that fixes it. CS:GO doesn't always play nice with custom stuff.
