Why do some people think Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are bad?

Honestly, I wouldn't say Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are bad, per se. Sure, they had a rocky start with some performance issues, like frame rate drops and glitches, which is kinda expected for a massive open-world game on its initial release. But, the devs have been patching things up! The game offers a huge, beautiful open world to explore, tons of new and unique Pokemon to catch, and really, it's a blast to play with friends. It's all about the adventure and discovery, which, to me, feels very much in the spirit of Pokemon.

Bad is a strong word. They're groundbreaking for the Pokemon series! Open world, baby! #PokeLove

Eh, they're overhyped. Bugs and performance issues aside, feels like just another Pokemon game but with more walking.

No way, they're not bad! You've got to consider the leap from previous Pokemon games to an open-world format. That's huge! Sure, there are bugs, but which open-world game doesn't have them at launch? Give it time, and it'll shine even more.
