Nope, you can't directly play defense in Retro Bowl. You only manage offensive plays, but your decisions can influence your team's defensive performance indirectly.

Unfortunately, you can't control defensive players. You have to trust the AI to handle that side of the game.

Defense is for the birds! Focus on leading your offense to victory and leave the dirty work to the AI.

I played hours of Retro Bowl and, sadly, defense is not part of the gameplay. You can only control your offense.
