Sure, Valheim has a story, but you kinda make your own adventure. The main goal is to survive, explore, and take down those big bad bosses Odin wants you to deal with.
Yeah, Valheim has a story! You start as a Viking warrior in the afterlife, tasked by Odin to defeat powerful bosses and bring order to the realms. It's a classic 'hero's journey' kind of thing, with some Norse mythology sprinkled on top.
The story is there if you want it, but it's not super in-your-face like some other games. It's more about what you do in the world.
