How do I counter an Indestructible creature in Magic: The Gathering?
CarryingMonte路7 months agoDealing with indestructible creatures in MTG can seem tough, but fear not! You've got options. One classic move is to use exile effects, which remove the creature from the game entirely, bypassing its indestructible status. Think cards like "Path to Exile" or "Swords to Plowshares." Another sneaky route is to force them to sacrifice it themselves with cards like "Diabolic Edict." If all else fails, you can always try reducing their toughness to 0, such as with "Mutilate" or "Toxic Deluge," which gets around indestructibility by not actually "destroying" the creature.

Honestly, just bounce it back to their hand or deck. Sure, it's not as permanent as exile, but it gives you breathing room and messes with their plans. Cards like "Cyclonic Rift" or "Condemn" can work wonders here.
Just exile it. Simple as that.
I once turned an opponent's indestructible God into a frog. Literally, with a card called "Turn to Frog." They didn't see it coming and it was hilarious. While it doesn't remove it from the field, it does negate any impactful abilities or damage it could've done for that turn. Sometimes, that's all you need!
