To catch a tuna in Stardown Valley, you gotta hit the ocean during summer or winter, between 6 AM and 7 PM game time. Make sure you're casting your line from the beach or from the edge of the pier; those spots are prime tuna territory. Patience is key, and don't forget to upgrade your fishing rod for a better chance at snagging one!

Just fish in the ocean during summer or winter, easy peasy. Tuna ain't shy, but they do keep business hours: 6 AM to 7 PM.

Catching a tuna drove me nuts until I figured out the trick: fish in the ocean during summer and winter, specifically from morning till evening. It's all about timing and having a decent rod. Oh, and load up on coffee or something to keep your character energized. This isn't a quick in-and-out kind of fishing.
