Can confirm from experience: just go to 'Wallet' > 'Link a Card', and add your gift card details like any other credit card. Worked like a charm for my last birthday gift card.
First, make sure your gift card has a major credit card logo (Visa, MasterCard, etc.). Then, log in to PayPal, navigate to 'Wallet', and click 'Link a Card'. Fill in the gift card info, and you're all set!
You can't add all gift cards directly, so check if your gift card can be used as a Visa/MasterCard/Amex first.
