To breed chickens in Stardew, just pop an egg in the incubator inside your coop. Make sure the coop's upgraded though, or no baby chicks for you.

Breeding chickens in Stardew Valley is pretty straightforward but super satisfying. First off, you gotta have a coop. Next up, buy at least one chicken from Marnie's Ranch, and make sure you've got an upgraded coop for them to start laying eggs. Once you have an egg, you can put it in the incubator inside your coop, and voila! Wait a few days, and you'll have yourself a new baby chick. Just remember, keep those little cluckers happy with food and love, and they'll keep multiplying.

I actually tried this with ducks first and it works the same way. Upgraded coop, incubator, and patience. It's kinda magical waking up to a new feathery friend in the game.
